Ham-bone Lentil Soup

We aren’t huge lentil fans, but we really enjoyed this soup! The Split Peas cook down to nothing, and help thicken the soup.  The flavor of this soup really hit home for me. 🙂

  • One Ham bone with a bit of extra meat still stuck
  • 3-4 Quarts water

Boil for around 2-4 hours. Strain. Scrape and then discard the bone.

  • 2 Garlic Cloves – minced
  • 2 Green onions – sliced fine
  • 3 Potatoes – chunked small
  • 1 Carrot – chopped fine
  • 1 c Dried split Peas
  • 1 c Dried Lentils
  • 1 T. Badio Complete Seasoning 

Add to broth and boil for another couple hours, until veggies are soft.  We enjoyed this with cornbread, or just with regular sourdough bread. 🙂
