Grandma’s Coleslaw

This vintage Coleslaw recipe hails from Pennsylvania – Amish Country. 🙂  My Grandma gave me this recipe. Just for the record, I haven’t changed it, and I have never tasted a coleslaw as good.  This would be best with homemade Mayo.

  • 1 Head Cabbage
  • 2 large Carrots

Peel Cabbage and Carrots, then chunk and run through the food processor.

  • 1 c. Mayo
  • 1/2 c. Sugar (I use Stevia. Depending on the brand, you would need a tsp or so to equal.)
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Mustard Powder
  • 2 T. Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 T. sweet pickle juice
  • 2 T. melted Butter

Combine in a quart jar, and shake well. Pour over chopped cabbage/carrots, and stir gently. It’s best after it’s set for about 15 minutes… no more than an hour!
